In The Money, Out of the Tourney by Court on 02.24.09, 5:21 pm

The final 63 players that came back for day 4 action are all guaranteed to be in the money, with the last hand of play yesterday bursting the money bubble.  Many of the 63 that made it through the day were left with very short stacks though, and the first hour of play today has thinned the field considerably.  The shortest stack, and first elimination of the day was David Daneshgar.  Daneshgar was all in yesterday with just his one 500 ante chip left but his Q3 was able to win the hand against two other players, multiplying David’s stack by 8 but more importantly letting him survive the hand and make it into the money, which ended up being a 63rd place payday of $23,052.  Daneshgar was left with the tiny stack yesterday after running his kings into aces against a player he had covered by only 1,500 chips.

The number of players remaining has quickly dropped down to 50, breaking one full table with another table to be removed from play shortly.  Cody “thugmoneymkr” Slaubaugh (right) and Bryan “bparis” Paris were among the early day eliminations, but both made it past the first payout level to the $27,395 payout for their 54th and 52nd place finishes respectively.

Both Paris and Slaubaugh came into the day in the middle of the pack with over 150k in chips, but Slaubaugh got off to a bad start, losing a 240k chip pot in a coinflip against Nenad Medic.  Cody had pocket eights against the AK for Medic but a board full of broadway cards left Slaubaugh with only 40k.  He was able to rally to 90k with a double up but never able to get back into comfortable shape and found himself eliminated in 54th.
