The action started with Matt “mcmatto” Affleck opening to 1,800 from under the gun.  Jonathan “FatalError” Aguiar made it 4,800 and James “mig.com” Mackey (left) raised to 13k from the small blind.  Affleck took a moment but got out of the way and then before you knew it all the all in buttons were flying and Mackey had his AA face up on the table while Aguiar was left to dejectedly expose his AK.

The board ran out 7534K and once the chips were counted down Aguiar had to send 73,275 to Mackey and was left with only around 4k.  Mackey’s stack grew to 150k and Aguiar was eliminated a few hands later.  Jordan “Scarface_79″ Smith, Scott “BigRiskky” Clements, Mike “goleafsgoeh” Leah, and Darryll “DFish” Fish have also been eliminated.

Brian “sn8wman” Hawkins and Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire have done a bit of a flip flop.  For most of the tournament Devonshire has had a large chip stack while Hawkins has battled with the short stack.  Hawkins started the day with just over 16k but is now up to 70k while Devo peaked at over 100k today but after recently doubling Daniel Negreanu he had dropped to 45k. Devo wasn’t down for long, busting Kenna James to build his stack back to 90k.

The players have just finished the 400 / 800 blind level and will be coming back to the 500 / 1,000 level with a 100 chip ante.  An earlier structure sheet showed the blinds jumping to 600 / 1,200 with the 500 / 1,000 level but there was a revision and players will get the 500 / 1,000 level.  The field is already down to around 130 players and the number will continue to drop as play continues through the completion of level 10 today.
