Jason “treysfull21″ Mercier took a major hit to his stack during the last level of the of the $2K NLHE event with the blinds at 1.5K/3K with a 400-chip ante. Mercier raised in the small blind before the flop and was called by Kenny “hixx” Hicks (pictured at left) in the big blind. The flop was A

. Mercier led out for 11.6K and Hicks made a raise to 32K total. Mercier told the dealer she didn’t need to bring in his bet but asked how much the raise was before announcing all in. He could hardly get the words out before Hicks snap-called and flipped over his A
T
for top two pair.
“I’ve got backdoor diamonds,” said Mercier, before turning over A

. The turn was 5
, and the river was the 9
. The total cost to Mercier was about 140K after the flop, leaving him with 160K after the hand. Hicks, on the other hand, now has over 300K.
A short time later Mercier called 6K pre-flop in the big blind. Three players saw the J

flop. Mercier and another player checked before the player on the button bet 15K. Mercier called and the other player folded. The turn was the A
and both players checked to see the 4
on the river. Mercier led out this time for 22K and the button took his time making a decision. He carefully counted out a call then shuffled the stack of 22 yellow chips for a while before eventually putting them in the pot.
Mercier rapped the table and said, “You win.” The other player was reluctant to turn over his cards, so Mercier said, “Ten-high” and showed his 10-8, for a missed open-ended straight draw. Only then did the other player show his 7

.
Faraz “The-Toilet” Jaka and Eric “white_mamba” Ladny (pictured at right) got involved in a couple all-in pots that resulted in Jaka hitting the rail. First, Faraz moved all in first position for 32.9K and was called by Ladny in the big blind. Jaka turned over 7

while Ladny had K

to double up while Ladny was down to 65K after the hand.
A little while later Ladny raised to 7.5K pre-flop and was called by Jaka. The flop was 9

. Ladny bet out 10K and Jaka made a small re-raise of 10.5K more. Ladny moved all in and Jaka called. He quickly turned to Ladny and asked, “You flop a set?” Ladny acknowledged he did, flipping over 9

. “God, I knew it,” Jaka said as he tabled two red aces. Turn and river were no help to Jaka and he was eliminated in the money.
