When we walked into the Miranda Room, we heard a lot of laughing coming from Table 268. This is standard when Joe Sebok (pictured left) is around, but a few drinks around the table have amplified the noise. Maria “Maridu” Mayrinck finds Table 268 distracting and tried to fight Sebok in the middle of the room. The two grappled, but Joe was too strong for Maria and hoisted her in the air. They then had this amusing spat:
Maria: I am Brazilian, I know jujitsu.
Joe: You’re not even American!
Maria: Floor! Give this man a 40 minute penalty. He is disrupting the entire tournament.
The situation calmed and both players eventually returned to their seats. Maria pulled us aside to comment on the mayhem. “Joe is being ridiculous,” she told us. “We are so close to cashing right now and he is sabotaging the entire room.”
Event #24 is currently in Level 5 and only about 1,300 spots from cashing.
We bumped into Darus “BejoMas” Suharto in the Brasilia Room and he is having some problems of his own. “I cannot beat Helen,” he told us. The entire table erupted in laughter. The aforementioned Helen is sitting in Seat 4 and has evidently taken quite a few chips from Suharto. “She has my whole stack,” Darus joked.
At a nearby table there is some poker being played. Faraz “The Toilet” Jaka limped in for 200 in the cutoff, the small blind completed and the big blind checked. The flop came Q
T
6
and both blinds checked to Jaka who min-bet 200. The small blind folded and the big blind called. The turn card was the 4
and the big blind flipped a 500 chip into the pot. Faraz shoved all in for 3K more and the player in the big blind called. Jaka turned a set with 4
4
, and his opponent was drawing dead with T
3
, but still called for a ten on the river. Instead of filling up with a ten, Faraz filled up with the Q
and doubled up to 8K.
Jimmy “gobboboy” Fricke and Tracey “xtrACEy” Nguyen have been moved to the same table, and Jimmy just tweeted, “Xtracey is at my table and 3betting me. Stop 3betting me.”
Nguyen has chipped up to 8.6K whereas Fricke is floating around the starting stack.
