Mercier Wins Bracelet; Markysals, Martine23 in $1.5K NLHE, by Jessica on 06.04.09, 3:34 pm

We’ve got yet another busy day ahead of of boys and girls, so here is a quick rundown of the agenda.  Keep in mind that these times may potentially change, as many restart times have been pushed back on previous days.

Kicking the day off is Event #11, a $2K NLHE event.  Some of the players we spotted wandering in this morning include the Gray brothers (Jason is pictured right), Frank “Frank1the1Tank” Calo, our own Court Harrington (Happy Belated Birthday Hick), and Tim “dandickaw” Mina.  That tournament will begin at 12PM and so far it looks like at least 1,427 will be playing in it.

Just an hour later, Event #7, the $1.5K NLHE event will restart and play from 33 players down to a winner today.  P5ers remaining in field include Michael “martine23″ Martin and Mark “markysals1″ Salinaro.

At 2PM the final table the $2.5K 2-7 Single Draw event will begin.  There aren’t any P5ers left in the field, but Phil Ivey did make the final table and is rumored to stand to win quite a bit of money in prop bets if he can take down the title.

Also restarting at 2PM is the $1.5K 6-Handed NLHE event.  105 players remain in the field including Cody “thugmoneymkr” Slaubaugh, Bryn Kenney, and David “DavidP18″ Peters.

We’re slowly beginning to realize that 2PM is going to be a kind of busy time for us, because the $2.5K Pot Limit Hold’em/Omaha is going to restart as well.  We’ll be keeping tabs on chipleader Jamie “thecronic420″ Rosen’s progress as well as all the other P5ers sprinkled amongst the remaining 99 players.

You thought we were done, weren’t you?  Nope.  We’ve got one more event on today’s agenda: the $10K World Championship of Mixed Games kicking off at 5PM.

Some other housekeeping notes  worth mentioning:

-One of our own, Jason “treysfull21″ Mercier (pictured left with his fancy new jewelry) won his first WSOP bracelet in the $1.5K PLO event last night, defeating Steve “PiKappRaider” Burkholder last night in a tough heads-up battle..  P5ers Kevin “kice32″ Iacafano and Matt “hazards21″ Giannetti finished in 3rd and 4th.  Not too shabby, eh?

-Steve Sung conquered the 6,000+ person field in the $1K NLHE Event #4 last night.  It is his first WSOP bracelet.

-Big congrats to Freddie Ellis, who is the new WSOP World Champion of Stud.  He defeated a tough field of players to win Event #6 yesterday.
