In the first few minutes of play Marco “Crazy Marco” Johnson (left) was able to crack aces and take a nice pot from Ted Lawson. On a board of 9
8
6
3
Lawson bet 3,500 into a pot of about 4k and Marco raised to 8,050. Lawson called and the 5
hit on the river.
Lawson led out for 3,500, a small bet into the pot and Marco thought for a few minutes before calling. “Aces,” Lawson said as he tossed up the A
A
and Marco showed his 8
6
for a flopped two pair to take the pot.
A few tables over Amit “Amak316″ Makhija folded on the river to an all in bet into a pot of around 15k. Makhija still had over 15k chips after the fold.
The one table outside of the main room was an interesting one, with Bryan Devonshire, Jason “JCarver” Sommerville, and Isaac “mr. menlo” Baron but about halfway into the first level the table was broken to fill empty seats in the main room. A rough count puts todays play at around 165 players with more expected to show up for tomorrow’s day 1B action. The line on the total number of players seems to be right around 400.
