In less than an hour the final 11 in the Festa al Lago will be back at the tables to play down to the final 6. Jason “StatusUp” Lavallee goes in with a strong chiplead after an impressive day 4, much like Jason “treysfull21″ Mercier did leading up to the final table of nine players at the World Series of Poker Europe. Mercier was never able to get much working at that final table and his chip stack carried him to fourth, but left him short of the victory.
While Lavallee isn’t at the official final table yet play will combine to just one table with the first elimination and barring something unexpected Lavallee will still have a chip lead at that point. A cold run of card or an unfortunate hand or two can change things in a hurry and even the shortest stacks still in have a reasonable chance at making a comeback and competing for the title.
Aaron “aejones” Jones is hoping he can be the shortstack that makes the comeback. He starts the day 10th out of the remaining 11 and his 679k stack represents only just over 22 big blinds with the first blind level of the day at 15k / 30k.
