Kinged by Court on 08.25.09, 8:17 pm

The first level of play for the day saw the field drop from 24 players down to 18 and the first order of business after the 15 minute break was a redraw for the 18 remaining players. Carter “ckingusc” King was eliminated on the last hand before break, most of the other players already out of the area thinking there were still 19 left spread across three tables. Tony “DrunkPPlaya” Gargano was also eliminated earlier in the level.

For King the day started well with him doubling his stack very early on but then he ran into a flip situation and came out on the losing end in a pot that would have put him above average in the chip counts. Carter opened the pot and Toto Leonidas moved all in putting King to a decision for the rest of his chips. They went in the middle and Carter’s pocket jacks looked good against Toto’s AK on the Q-8-8-8 flop and turn but a king hit on the river and with that Carter King was out in 19th place for $18,285.

Gargano opened from the button for 21k (blinds 4k / 8k) and Steven Begleiter called from the small blind. On the 853 flop Begleiter checked and Tony put out a bet of 30k leaving around 180k behind. Begleiter announced all in, easily having Tony covered. After long thought Gargano ended up calling with the A4 and was left drawing for his tournament life against the 54 of Begleiter. The gutshot and ace draw didn’t come in for Tony as the board filled out with the K9 and Gargano was eliminated in 21st place earning $18,285.

Todd “tbt4653″ Terry is still the overall chip leader, cracking the 1 million chip mark and Steven Begleiter is also just over 1,000,000. James “mig.com” Mackey is in third place overall but the chip leader at his new table with 710,000.
