Khan ‘Rains’ on Greenstein’s Parade by Jessica on 01.16.09, 12:40 am

With less than 65 players the end of Day 2 seems not too far off, especially with the speedy rate that players have been dropping out of the event.  One of the most recent eliminations came when Hevad “Rain” Khan raised to 7.2K from under the gun with the blinds at 1.5K/3K ante 400 and a player in middle position called.  Barry “barryg1″ Greenstein (pictured right) then moved all-in from the button for around 24K total.  Hevad put in a hefty reraise (enough to put the other player in the hand all in) and the other player folded.  Greenstein showed AQ while Khan held JJ.  Barry took the lead when the flop came Q95.  The turn brought the 8, giving Khan an inside straight draw and the T fell on the river, completing Khan’s straight and sending Greenstein to the rail.  Khan’s stack is up to 225K.

As per usual, Greenstein stuck around long enough to autograph a copy of his book, “Ace on the River” and present to Khan.  After Greenstein was out of earshot, Khan told the table, “that makes two” and proceeded to tell the story of how he busted Barry out of the PCA in the Bahamas just last week.

P5ers clashed across the room as well when Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire raised to 7K from the cutoff and Jason “JP_OSU” Potter reraised to 20.4K from the button.  Devonshire moved all-in for his remaining 110K and Potter called with TT

“What a cooler, ” Devo remarked as he turned over 88.  The T44 flop left Bryan drawing nearly dead and the J on the turn and Q on the river sealed his fate and sent him packing.  Potter is now up to 240K.

Some other recent chip counts from Level 11 action are as follows:

Tyler “Tydean” Smith - 415K
Jason “JP_OSU” Potter - 240K
Hevad “Rain” Khan - 225K
Ryan “gutshtallin” Welch - 199K
Mike “goleafsgoeh” Leah - 180K
Ben Fineman (pictured left) - 146K
