Jones Bubbles TV Table by Court on 10.25.09, 10:07 pm

A seventh place finish on the World Poker Tour is one of the more brutal bubbles in tournament poker. The pay jump from 7th to 6th is usually significant, but for many of those that play major tournament poker the exposure of a TV table is something that is desired on a personal level and can often have value beyond the payouts of the tournament. Aaron “aejones” Jones was able to battle back from the short stack he started the day with but when all was said and done he ended up the 7th place finisher. Jones moved the last of his stack in from the cutoff and was called by Craig Crivello who started the day with the shortest stack of the 11 players.

Jones had moved in with the K8 and Crivello made the call with the JJ. The jacks held and with that the play was done for the day and the final 6 were left to fill out all the paperwork that goes along with making a World Poker Tour final table. For Jones the 7th place finish was worth $129,210.

The final 6 will return tomorrow at 4pm to play down to a champion. Freddy Deeb (right) is the biggest name left in the field and he will go into the final table with the largest stack. Freddy was also one of the latest registrants, coming in during the break after the 8th level at the last possible moment. Deeb parlayed his late entrance into a final table appearance with the chip lead which should only add to the discussion about the pros and cons of entering a tournament after 12 hours of actual play were complete.

Jason “StatusUp” Lavallee came into the day with a big chip lead but got sucked back into the pack and finished the day with the second shortest stack. His stack allowed him to withstand a tough day and still make it through to the final table, and if things go better for him tomorrow he could still be a serious contender for the title.

Final 6 Chip Counts:

Freddy Deeb - 3.84 million
Shawn Cunix - 3.67 million
Tommy Vedes - 2.99 million
Craig Crivello - 2.57 million
Jason “StatusUp” Lavallee - 2.045 million
Jason Burt - 1.375 million.
