Joe “Dyzalot” Morneau (picture left) was on a roller coaster ride at the final table of Event #36. Morneau became a massive chip leader after dinner when he crippled the former chip leader; Pat Atchison. The two got it all-in before the flop, Morneau holding jacks and Atchison holding queens. The flop brought both a queen and a jack and the turn blanked. The river brought the miracle case jack though, and the rail erupted.
Morneau then suffered two big blows from Laurence Grondin running A9 into QQ and then losing a race with AK agaist 66.
On Joe’s final hand, he turned a flush when the K
came on the turn against Jordan Smith. The two got it all in, but Morneau’s seven-high flush was no good against Smith’s ten-high flush. Jordan is now chip-leader with close to 5 million and Joe will have to settle with $166,584 for fourth place.
WSOP 2009 EVENT #39 $1.5K NLHE
Over in the Amazon Room Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. A player at his table raised the action to 1050 with the blinds at 200/400/50. A player on the button called and Baldwin reached for a stack of yellow and purple chips and stuck it in the middle for a big raise. The original raiser folded, but the player on the button called the bet which put him all in. The hands were tabled:
Baldwin: 8

Button: A
K
Eric was live, but lost some outs when the flop fell A
T
7
. Baldwin needed a nine to complete an inside straight or running eights or sixes. The T
on the turn paired the board and so too did the 7
on the river.
“Chop it up,” Baldwin joked.
Although his stack took a small hit, Eric is still floating around the average chip stack.
Maksim “get got” Marandeyev has hit the rail. Stout was coolered when he ran KK into AA and couldn’t hit the two-outer. Jon “sketchy1″ Eaton suffered a cooler too, his new table draw includes Amanda “Mandy B” Baker and Nam Le.
WSOP 2009 EVENT #40 $10K OMAHA CHAMPIONSHIP
Five players limped for 300 before the flop in this hand from the 10K PLO event. The flop came A

. Mike Matusow checked, then David Singer, followed by Mike “SirWatts” Watson, then Steve “MrSmokey1″ Billirakis and then finally a player we actually didn’t know by name. The turn was the T
. It was checked back around to Watson (pictured right), who bet 1K. The unknown player and Matusow made the call. The river was the 7
. This time Watson bet 3.6K and Matusow was the only caller. Watson showed Q

and Matusow mucked, giving Watson the pot with his queen-high flush.
A little later we caught Patrik Antonius and Eric “EFro” Froelich in a pot with a flop of 4

and a third club. The player in seat four checked and Antonius made a bet of 1K. The player in seat nine called and Froelich then raised to 5.2K total. It folded to Antonius, who re-potted. Seat nine folded and Froelich called all in (with one rebuy chip behind). Froelich showed A

. The turn Q
gave Froelich a flush and Antonius didn’t fill up on the 2
river.
Shaun Deeb is seated on the other side of the Brasillia room. He saw a flop of T

in a limped pot and led out for a bet of 1,025. One player folded before the player in seat four made the call. Both players checked the 9
on the turn before seeing the Q
on the river. Deeb checked again and the other player thought for a while before betting 1.8K. It was Deeb’s turn to tank for a bit, but, after checking his hand a few times, he decided to muck his hand.
