After 5 hours of play the starting field of 135 for day 1A play has been reduced to only 99 players and down to 11 tables, taking up only a small portion of the tournament area and leaving plenty of room for cash games and single table satellites, along with the final table of the 2k event from yesterday with Allen Cunningham being the most notable player at that final table.
Faraz “The-toilet” Jaka has cracked the 100k chip mark and left Hoyt Corkins with less than 5k after making a flush to overcome Hoyt’s pocket aces and winning a pot worth 100k. While Faraz has jumped up in the chip counts Blair “blur5f6″ Hinkle and Justin “Boosted_J” Smith (right) have seen their days end short, among the 36 players eliminated in the early going on day 1A at the Bay 101 Shooting Star WPT tournament.

turn. Both players checked the river and Tyler’s pocket sevens were good enough to take the pot, picking off the other players bluff with the K

. Tyler was over 35k after raking in the pot.
As players move through the mid point of day 1A here are some chip counts from around the room:
Faraz “The-toilet” Jaka - 100k
Joe Sebok - 48k
Jonathon “FieryJustice” Little - 38k
Tim “Tmay420″ West - 36k
Tyler “Brainwash” Cornell - 35k
Annie Duke - 35k
Once the 6th level of the day finishes up players will be on dinner break and will then return to play 4 more levels for the night, coming back to blinds of 200 / 400 with a 50 ante.
