The $50,000 HORSE Event was scheduled to get underway at Noon today but play was pushed back an hour as only 45 players had registered. We’re expecting more to stroll in during the first couple levels but we have a total of 62 as of as of 1:00 p.m. Justin Bonomo and Justin “BoostedJ” Smith are two P5ers we’ll be following during the course of the tournament and we’ll be sure to let you know if any others decide to play in one of the elite event of the 2009 World Series of Poker.
Barry “barryg1″ Greenstein and Randy “Randers” Haddox will return at 2:00 p.m. for the final table of the $2,500 Mixed Hold ‘em Event. Greenstein was working with a nice stack until he doubled up two players on the final table bubble late last night. He’ll begin the final day with 193K in chips while Haddox will start with 555K.
Day 2 of the $1.5K PLO Hi/Lo also kicks off at 2:00 p.m. We’ll likely reach the bubble before the first break of the day as 87 players return and the top 72 get paid. Here’s a look at the P5ers still in the field:
Aaron “gotcha55″ Kanter - 52,000
Trevor ““DenYoungGun”” Reader - 47,300
Stewart “StuMan23″ Yancik - 25,700
Jesse “JMaster20″ Cohen - 22,800
It should be a slow day here at the Rio but be sure to check in for updates on all of today’s events!
