We couldn’t see what Blair “blur5f6″ Hinkle was up to during money bubble play from our spot on the rail, but apparently he’s been busy. His stack ballooned over the 1 million chip mark and we caught the following hand in which Hinkle busted a player to add even more chips to the pile. With the board reading {td]{3c]2
J
the player in the small blind led for around 15K and Blair raised to 35K or so from the big blind. The third player in the hand folded and the small blind moved all but 2.5K of his chips in the middle. Hinkle called the 90K or so bet and the two players kept their cards face down as the 5
was dealt on the river. The player threw his last 2.5K in, Hinkle called, and the cards were turned up. The player who was all-in held Q-J for top pair while Hinkle turned over K
T
for the king high flush. He is now up to 1.2 million.
Joe “jcada99″ Cada also picked up some chips with K-10. He and another player got it all-in on a 9
6
3
flop for the other player’s last 200K or so with Joe holding K
T
to his opponent’s Q
2
.
“Put a heart on the turn dealer, let’s get this thing over with,” Cada requested. The dealer failed to oblige as the turn was the 9
and the river was the J
. Neither player was able to make a flush and Joe’s king-high was good enough to take down the pot, eliminate the player, and build his stack up to 675K.
Thuy “ShesNoGood” Doan faded the flush draw when she and another player got it all-in for Doan’s tournament life with Thuy holding A
T
to the other player’s K
4
on an A
J
3
flop. The turn was the 9
and the river the 4
giving Thuy the pot with a pair of aces and boosting her stack up to 350K.
Billy “Patrolman35″ Kopp is among the chip leaders in the tournament after eliminating a player at his table. His opponent opened to 15K from middle position with the blinds at 2.5K/5K/500 and Billy called in position. The blinds folded and the flop fell J
T
9
. Kopp’s opponent check-called a 25K bet and the turn brought the 4
. Both players checked and the river was the 2
. Billy’s opponent led out for 50K and Kopp moved all in. His opponent called with K
Q
and was devastated when Billy tabled Q
6
for a rivered flush. A wave of chips was pushed Kopp’s way and he is now just short of 1.5 million.
Nick “FU_15″ Maimone took a turn in the wrong direction when he picked up pocket aces for what he claimed was the first time this entire tournament. Nick told us a player raised and he called in position and the player in the big blind called as well. The flop came 8-8-5 with two hearts and the initial raiser led for 22.5K. Maimone raised to 47.5K total, the big blind folded, and the initial raiser moved all-in for 140K total. Nick called with his aces, which were ahead of the other player’s pocket sevens until a seven peeled on the turn to give Maimone’s opponent the pot and drop Nick down to 640K.
Jason “fisheye25″ Sackler hoped to double up at the hands of Julian “wh00sle” Parmann, but his A
8
had some catching up to do with Parmann’s A
J
. The Q
T
7
flop was little help to Sackler and the 6
on the turn left him drawing even slimmer. The river was the 3
and Julian scooped the pot to eliminate Sackler and move up to 300K in chips.
Jonathan “driverseati” Tamayo added a nice pot to his stack on the last hand before the break. We missed the flop action but Tamayo told us that he led out for 21K on a Q
Q
8
flop and his opponent check-raised all in for 89K. Tamayo called with T
T
, which was well ahead of his opponent’s A
K
. The 9
turn and 6
river were no help to the other player and Tamayo took of on his break with 640K, well above the tournament average.
