Happy Belated Birthday Jimmy by Court on 04.20.09, 10:53 pm

The poker Gods may have forgotten yesterday that it was Jimmy “Gobboboy” Fricke’s (right) 22nd birthday but they made up for it today during the 4th level of play.  Jimmy was able to grind his way to around 115k and then he doubled through Matt “Mattg1983″ Graham when his AK outran Matt’s pocket queens.

After that Jimmy had around 230k but he didn’t stop there.  He was involved in a pot with Steve Levy and on the A-7-5 flop all the chips went in.  Jimmy had pocket sevens for a set which was good enough to best Steve’s A5 for a flopped two pair.  After busting Levy it was time for Fricke to set his sights back on Graham.  Jimmy was able to make trips to take more chips off Graham who is now down to 170k after being up to around 400k not long ago.

Jimmy’s stack has blossomed to almost 450k going into the last level of play for the night with blinds of 1k / 2k and a 300 chip ante.  Jimmy isn’t the only one that has seen his stack multiply recently though.  Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier was able to get a huge double up through Shawn Cunix and now has 550k.  Cunix flopped the nut straight on a J-T-9 flop with his KQ but by the river Elky had made a bigger straight with his AQ and was able to get the big double up from Cunix putting him near the chip lead, trailing only Justin Young who is now over 600k.

Joe Sebok (left) also doubled up, calling off the rest of his chips on a 7-6-6 rainbow flop with pocket jacks.  The other player had pocket nines and Sebok’s larger pair held to double him to just under 300k.  Father Barry “barryg1″ Greenstein hasn’t faired as well as his son in this tournament.  The Bear was sent to the sidelines when his AK fell to another players pocket queens.

A shortstacked Adam “Roothlus” Levy was able to double to just over 100k when his pocket eights held up against another players AQ all in preflop.
