Shortly after returning from the first break of the day, players were instructed to begin Hand-for-Hand play with 653 players remaining (five away from the money bubble). One player who didn’t survive long enough to make it to bubble play was John “danglesauce” Sweeney. Sweeney lost a chunk of his stack in a blind versus blind confrontation where he held J-9 to an opponent’s 7-10 on a J-9-8 flop. Then Sweeney reshipped his last 110K all-in with pocket queens only to run into pocket aces around 30 players from the money. The aces held and Sweeney was eliminated.
Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul tried to eliminate a short-stacked player who moved all-in holding pocket kings to Kevin’s A
K
. The kings held and Saul dropped to 480K, still above the 300K average stack.
Billy “Patrolman35″ Kopp continued to chip up during the money bubble. He has taken a couple of pots down during hand-for -hand play and won enough chips to put him over the million chip mark.
At the time of this post, we still need one more player to bust before they reach the money. Next time you hear from us, hand-for-hand play should more than likely be over and we can begin to give you a better sense of who is still in the tournament.
