The money bubble has burst in the $2.5K 6-max NLHE event. Steve “gboro780″ Gross (pictured at left) and Seth “grtwhitehoop” Fischer both made the money but have since been eliminated.
Gross lost the majority of his chips during the following hand. On a flop of Q
T

, Gross called a 4K bet to see the 3
on the turn. This time his opponent checked and Gross bet 6.5K. The other player called and the river was the A
. The other player checked again and Gross asked how much more he had before deciding to bet around 12K. His opponent then moved all in for a total of 26.8K. At the time, the tables were playing hand-for-hand so many tournament players gathered around Gross’s table while his thought about a call. Eventually, he decided to make the call. The all-in player tabled Q
Q
for a flopped set, which beat Gross’s A
J
.
In his final hand, Gross raised to 4K before the flop and the player to his immediate left re-raised to 11K. It folded back around to Gross who made the call with less than 15K behind. The flop was A
J
2
. Gross led out for 8.3K and the other player put him all in. Gross called and tabled 9

, but he was behind his opponent’s T
T
. The turn 7
and the river A
brought no help for Gross, who was eliminated.
We joined the action in Fischer’s final hand as he was being asked for a chip count by Brett “threatnasty” Switzer. The dealer counted a total of 72.9K in Fischer’s stack. Fischer appeared to have 12K already invested in the pot pre-flop when Switzer announced he was all in. Fischer called instantly and tabled A
K
while Switzer had A
T
. Although behind, Fischer found plenty of help on the T

{10s} board.
“Well played,” said Fischer with a touch of sarcasm before heading over to collect his winnings. Switzer’s stack swelled to over 250K with the pot.
Chris “SLOPPYKLOD” Klodnicki picked up some more chips after calling an opponent’s 18.3K river bet with what looked to be about 25K already in the pot on a board of 8
5
{2}K
A
. His A-7 was good enough to win the pot on the end.
“You know I had you the whole way,” said Klodnicki to his opponent, who had immediately told him his hand was good when he called. “No, you didn’t actually,” was the response he received. Klodnicki has 160K at the first break of the day.
Shaun Deeb, (pictured at right) who is keeping covered up and quiet today after engaging in some pretty entertaining conversations during play yesterday, doubled up a short time ago with kings against his opponent’s queens to around 190K. Deeb is keeping the hood of his white hoodie over his head and sunglasses on while he plays. He was the other player in the Jeff Garza hand we reported on earlier.

WSOP 2009 Event #20: $1.5K PLHE
David “The Maven” Chicotsky (pictured at left) kindly explained why Christian “charder30″ Harder’s seat at his table had been filled with someone else by filling us in on his bustout hand. A player in early position raised to 275 at the 75/150 blind level, Chicotsky reraised to 450, Harder put in a re-minraise, the initial raiser folded, and David moved all-in. Christian called with pocket queens and we had the standard race situation on our hands as David held A-K. Chicotsky won the flip, Christian was eliminated, and David has since built up his stack to 16K.
Even though it happened earlier in the day, Jamie “thecronic420″ Rosen was so proud of his hero call that we simply had to share it. With the blinds at 50/100 a player limped from under the gun, Jamie raised to 450 total from the cutoff, the small blind called, and the limper called. It checked around on the 8-3-2 with two diamonds flop and a second eight fell on the turn. Play once again checked to Rosen and he bet 750 into around a 1.4K pot. The small blind folded and the limper moved all-in for 2.8K total. Jamie said he told the man, “you either have deuces, threes, or nothing….guess there’s only one way to find out,” before calling with A-7 for ace high. Turns out the other guy had essentially nothing, just K-10, and Rosen’s ace high held on the river to knock the player out and add to his stack. He is currently sitting on 16K.
Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul (pictured at right) has built up a hefty stack early on as well. We did see him take a small hit when he limped from under the gun at the 100/200 blind level, a player in middle position, the small blind completed, and the big blind checked their option. It checked to Kevin on the A
T
7
flop and he bet 500. The second limper then raised 1K on top and the blinds folded. Kevin put in a 3-bet, but was forced to fold when his opponent moved all-in for 3.5K more. He is still above average with a 13K stack though.

WSOP 2009 Event #18: $10K Omaha H/L Championship
While Jacobo Fernandez busted in 12th place, we’ve still got two P5ers in contention for our collective 6th bracelet headed into the final table. Players are currently on dinner break, but when they return, both Scott “BigRiskky’ Clements and Annie Duke will be vying for the bracelet at the final table. Scott has a substantial chip lead and will be sitting with nearly 1.5 million while his next closest competition, John Monette, sits with around 950K. Annie Duke is in the middle of the 10-person pack, as is Daniel Alaei and Daniel Negreanu.
