No Good Deeb Goes Unpunished by Jessica on 07.02.09, 4:33 am

The backslide for Shaun Deeb continued during Level 19. After taking a big loss earlier in the level, Deeb got the remainder of his stack (around 250K) all-in with A-9 against another player’s A-J. The A-8-7-J-K board failed to spare Shaun and he was sent to the rail. On the bright side for Deeb, his prediction he would be eliminated in 27th place was slightly off–Brent “Astrolux85″ Roberts (pictured left) ran pocket jacks into the pocket aces of Jonas “plummer92″ Wexler and was eliminated just a couple of minutes before him to take the 27th place slot.

Their eliminations were so close together that the two of them were at the desk to report their bustout at the same time and, though we can’t be sure we heard it entirely correctly, it sounded like Deeb offered to swap spots with Brent so his prediction about his ultimate finish would be spot on.

While Deeb failed to chip up, his tablemate Faraz “The-Toliet0″ Jaka was more successful in his attempt to double his chips. We missed the hand, but we did see a huge pot being pushed Jaka’s way to push him up near the 900K mark. Wexler also kept busy during Level 19 and has Jaka’s account just bested with 915K.

Speaking of counts, here are some recent chip counts from the tail end of the 19th level of play:

Blair “blur5f6″ Hinkle - 1 million
Jonas “plummer92″ Wexler - 915K
Faraz “The-Toilet0” Jaka - 900K
Peter “Nordberg” Feldman - 700K
Jon “apestyles” Van Fleet - 435K
Alex “EC10″ Venovski - 410K
Frank “Frank1The1Tank” Calo - 400K
Josh “brikdog24″ Brikis - 350K
Ryan “dank stax” Milisits -260K
