WSOP Event #6 - $1.5k Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better:
As we entered into the last level of the evening for the limit Omaha Event #6, the blinds were at 300/500. Though the original field of 833 had dipped to less than 250, several PocketFives players remain strong. We caught up with P5er Chris “SKOAL” Falconer, who shared a table with Allen Kessler. His stack remained above average at 11K.
Also climbing up the chip leader board is Jimmy “Gobboboy” Fricke. He deadpanned “GAMBOL!!” before sucking out on the river to pick up 9s full of Aces and knock out two players at the table. Two hands later, Fricke picked up another healthy pot when his pocket Kings made a boat. His stack climbed to 22K.
Meanwhile, Scott “BigRiskky” Clements (pictured at left) was at a table where the dealer had difficulty reading some of the hands involved. Fortunately, there was no mistake with this takedown: Clements’ preflop raise met two other callers. The flop came A
8
9
; he bet out and was called again. The 2
came on the turn and the J
on the river, completing Clements’ Q
T
straight. His stack piled to 28K, enough to place him within the top five chipleaders. The last hand of the level resulted in Katja Thater’s elimination; the event will resume tomorrow with a field of about 200 remaining players.
WSOP Event #5 - $1K NLHE with Rebuys:
This event also concluded for the evening and will start back up at 2pm PST tomorrow. Just over one hundred players remain in the event, vying for the chance to dethrone last year’s winner, Michael Chu, and win the bracelet.
WSOP Event #4 - $5,000 Mixed Hold’em:
We have whittled down to the final nine players for tomorrow’s reckoning day. Tomorrow’s huge final table will commence at 3pm PST with David Williams, Justin Bonomo, Erick Lindgren, Howard Lederer, Roland de Wolfe, Isaac Haxton, David Rheem, Andrew Robl and Pat Pezzin.
