Zak “traction” Gilbert is one of seven players remaining at the final table of the $1.5 Stud Hi-Low event. Gilbert started today with 110K but we caught him building his stack a little earlier. The hands:
Gilbert: X-X-6
A
Q
4
-X
Seat one: X-X-5
7
3
Q
-X
With the limits set at 12K/24K, Pokerstars Pro Chad Brown checked on sixth street and Gilbert made a bet. The player in seat one called and Brown folded, leaving plenty of his chips in the middle for one of the two remaining players. Both players were dealt their final card. Gilbert checked and his opponent did as well.
The player in one said he had two pair, but Gilbert’s two pair was better. He turned over A
6
for aces and sixes and scooped the whole pot to improve his stack to 270K.
Unfortunately for Gilbert he made a full house and short time later and was beaten by a better full house to drop him back down to 160K. Brown is the current chip leader with 460K.
WSOP EVENT #54: $1.5K NLHE
We stood in the Brasilia Room watching the $1.5K NLHE Event #54 during the past hour and at one point there were five all-in confrontations within six-tables of view. That should give you a good idea of what’s going there.
One short stacks that benefited from the madness was Kyle “thetruth503″ Zartman.
Zartman added 16K to his stack when a player moved all in and Kyle called with A

David “DavidP18″ Peters and another player checked a flop of 5

. The turn was the 7

. Action was checked to Peters one more time and, after some thought, he made a pot-sized bet of 4,325. The other player made the call and eventually showed A-K but Peters A
5
was best and he took the pot to increase his stack to about 35K.
Phil “USCPhildo” Collins opened to 800 in seat one with the blinds at 150/300 with an ante of 25. The in seat two called before the player in seat three moved all in for his last 2,550. Shaun Deeb, who is in the four seat, just called the all in. Collins and the player in seat two folded and Deeb turned up K
