Giannetti Advances by Jessica on 06.10.08, 9:29 am

Matt Giannetti’s table had been commenting all night about how they felt like they were moving more slowly than the other tables.  They were the last table to be playing four handed and generally had 2-3 more players than most of the other tables all night.  However, when the three remaining players all got it all-in preflop, they were able to catch up with the other tables in terms of progress.  The three-way all-in went as follows:

Giannetti - KJ
Opponent #1 - 66
Opponent #2 - A5

Giannetti as able to spike a jack on the flop and eliminate his competition in one fell swoop as he advances to tomorrow’s final table.

After a lengthy session of 3-handed play at one of the three remaining tables, Sarvesh “Serbie” Pershad was eliminated when he and Garrett “GBecks” Beckman got it all in on a flop of 975 with Beckman holding 8T to Pershad’s J-9.  Garrett picked up a spade draw when the 5 came on the turn and completed his flush with a 4 on the river.  Sarvesh was crippled and all-in for less than the blind the next hand.  His K2 was no match for Beckman’s AT and he was eliminated.

Beckman began heads up play with a sizeable chip lead, but after doubling up his opponent twice, he found himself playing the short stack in the match.  He, along with Kyle Bowker and four others, continued to battle for one of the three remaining final table spots as play continued on into the morning…
