Garza Out of the Action

In a matchup with some history behind it, Jeff “ActionJeff” Garza was eliminated in 46th place by chip leader Kofi “redsoxsox” Farkye. Garza was the last person eliminated before the next small pay jump, but he is in no way the only recent elimination. Notably Erica Schoenberg (37th), Haralabos Voulgaris (40th), Nenad Medic (42nd), Maria Ho (43rd), Steve Paul-Ambrose (47th), Nick Binger (49th) and David Pham (50th).

T4 but his A-3 with no club was in bad shape against Farkye’s set of tens. The set held up, eliminating Garza in 46th for $27,395 and pushing Kofi’s stack to over 900k. While Kofi has held serve at or very near the top of the chip counts since late in day 2, Mike “SowersUNCC” Sowers has also been among the chip leaders for a large portion of the tournament. He had a recent setback, doubling a couple of players up, but is still healthy with over 600k.
With the field down to 36 players, everyone has been condensed to the final 4 tables, with Matt Savage saying that play will definitely go a full 5 levels today, and longer if needed to get the field down to 27 players.
