While we were off compiling our last post Jordan “scarface_79″ Smith (pictured left) lost some chips, won some chips, and when we came back he was sitting with nearly 800K. When we asked how he got all those chips, here is what he said:
“Three outed someone. Got kinda lucky.”
Thankfully, Smith was kind enough to elaborate on exactly what happened. After losing nearly half his stack in one hand, Jordan got his last 165K all-in preflop holding A-Q to another player’s pocket tens. The ace queen was able to win the flip and he doubled up to around 340K. Then Jordan was able to double up once again when he reraised all-in with A-Q and got called by a player holding A-K. He was able to spike a queen and managed to hold on to those chips to end the day with 800K.
Seventeen players will return at 1PM tomorrow to play down to a winner. Jonathan “therookieqq9″ Plens is glad to be one of them. He picked up a nice pot when a short-stacked player with 150K moved all-in from the small blind with the blinds at 6K/12K ante 1K. Plens woke up with 8

in the big blind and called. The other player had some catching up to do with his Q
7
and the board was no help to him as it ran out K

. Plens eliminated the player and padded his stack up to 345K. He managed to pick up a little more before play ended for the night and will start tomorrow with 378K.
After the hand, he went over to his rail, which included Chris “cmoney3″ Kline and joked, “Hey, maybe I can actually make it to the end of Day Two this time.” You may remember that Plens came just short of making Day Three of the most recent $1.5K NLHE event, getting knocked out late in Day Two in 22nd place.
Other players returning tomorrow include Jack “doctor_fun” Powell (679K), Corwin Cole (447K), and Joe “Dyzalot” Morneau (405K). When they return blinds will start at 6K/12K ante 1K.
WSOP 2009 Event #37: $10K Stud H/L
Justin “Boosted_J” Smith is doing his best to make Day Three of a tournament as well. He is one of the twelve players remaining in the Stud H/L Championship event. His chip stack has slipped a bit since we last checked on him and he is now sitting on 240K.
