Fricke Can’t Hit His Flush

Many of the tables in the Brasilla Room, which is playing host to round one of the $1.5K limit hold’em shootout, are still eight and nine handed, including the table belonging to Jimmy “gobboboy” Fricke (pictured at left).
Fricke raised before the flop and was re-raised by the player in seat two with the limits at 150/300. The player in seat four called, as did Fricke. The flop was J

on the turn. The river was the T. Fricke bet and the other player called. Fricke turned over Q7 for queen-high and a missed spade draw while his opponent tabled 9
8 and took the pot.
Kevin “ImaLucSac” MacPhee a few chips to his stack recently. The player in seat two raised before the flop and MacPhee re-raised. Seat two called and the flop was JT2. The player in seat two check-called a bet by MacPhee. The turn was the 2. Again the player in seat two check-called a bet. Both players checked the river and MacPhee showed J6 to scoop the pot.
Eric “jakz101″ Crain (pictured at right), on the other hand, is the chip leader at his impressive table, which still includes Toto Leonidas, Tom Schneider and David Pham. Alex “Kadabra” Keating was seated at the table before being knocked out by Crain. With the limits still at 150/300, Crain made it 300 before the flop and the player in seat four raised. Keating then moved all in for his last few chips and Crain went ahead and put in enough to put seat four all in as well. He call and the cards were turned up:
Crain: A5
Keating: 78
Seat four: KK
The board ran out J43A2 and Crain knocked out both players.
Across the aisle Justin “fluffdog” Filtz was eliminated by Brock “t soprano” Parker. Filtz was all in on the flop of T84 for his last few chips but he had been out-flopped by Parker’s AT. The turn 9 and the river 8 were no help to Filtz, who was eliminated.
Kevin “stamdogg” Stammen, who was seated at the same table as Grant “drossxyu” Hinkle, was also recently eliminated.
WSOP 2009 EVENT #49 $50K HORSE
Justin “BoostedJ” Smith is off to a quick start in the $50K HORSE. After scooping a massive Omaha 8 pot Smith appears to be the chip leader with an astounding 280K.
Steve “MrSmokey1″ Billirakis is comfortable with 200K, Annie Duke has 160K and Scott “BigRiskky” Clements has 145K.
Barry Greenstein has been very inactive since jumping into his seat after his final table bust-out. Barry is below the starting stack with 135K, but there is plenty of room for play.
