Fisler to the Lead, Vivek Out 16th by Court on 10.15.08, 4:46 pm

It wasn’t too long ago that Ryan “Gotskillz” Fisler was all in for his last 290k chips. Now he has jumped to the top of the chip counts and has almost 2 million chips as play nears the final table.

Fisler (left) was all in again, and in worse shape, with his AT up against the pocket kings of Spiro Mikrogianakis. Two diamonds on the flop and another on the river made a flush for Ryan and allowed added to his streak of big wins in big pots. Spiro was left shortstacked and was eliminated soon after.

Fisler was able to finish off Spiro in a hand that took him to the chip lead. Fisler had opened to 34k and Spiro called all in, just under Fisler’s 34k. Nick Alafoginnis decided he wanted in the action and raised all in. Fisler quickly called with his pocket aces and was able to double up yet again while finishing off Spiro in 18th place.

Ryan is up to a whopping 1.8 million chips after his run of hands.

On the other side of the coin, the chip leader to start the day has seen his stack fall to nothing and has been eliminated. Vivek “psyduck” Rajkumar (right) had pocket aces like Fisler, but his ended up falling to the flush of Marc “Myst” Karam. After Karam had opened the pot for 40k and Sam Greenwood had called Vivek put in a raise to 130k. Only Marc called and the two went heads up to the KQ3 flop.

Vivek then moved all in, only to be snap called by Karam with his flopped flush holding the JT. Rajkumar hit what he needed on the turn to have a chance when the A hit, giving him outs to a full house if the board paired. It also made possible a royal flush versus quads situation if the A were to fall on the river. There was no excitement though as the T was the last card and Vivek’s dreams of back to back WPT titles came up a little short. Rajkumar’s 16th place finish is worth $49,450 CAD.

Karam is up to 1.6 million chips after eliminating Rajkumar.
