Event #7 $1.5K NLHE is now playing hand for hand with the bubble nearing. Ben “Bfineman” Fineman just suffered a brutal beat though, and will be missing the money. We caught up with the action on the flop, but we were informed later than Fineman raised the action preflop. The only caller was a player in the small blind, who already boasted a large stack. The flop was 6

, and the small blind checked. Ben led out for 4K, and, after tanking, his opponent raised to 20K. Fineman thought momentarily before announcing “all-in.” The player in the small blinds snap called the 40+K reraise and tabled J

. Ben turned over A

and needed to dodge a heart. The turn was safe, the K
, but the river drowned Fineman when the 5
hit the felt. Ben was quick to exit after such a sick hand.
Shaun Deeb (pictured left) has no reason to complain, he just doubled his stack at a nearby table. When we arrived, there was about 30K in the middle with the board reading Q

. Deeb’s opponent checked, and Shaun thought for quite a while. He then grabbed his towering stacks with two hands, and moved all in for 37.3K. His opponent went deep into the tank, counting and recounting his chips. He even apologized to the table for taking so long. Eventually Deeb was called, and he happily turned over 8

for a full house sixes full of eights. His opponent mucked, and Shaun pulled in a 110K pot.
After the hand, Deeb informed us that he had raised preflop, and only the one opponent called. On the flop, Shaun’s opponent check called a 4.6K bet, and on the turn a 9.6K bet.
Luke “bdbeatslayer” Vrabel is chipping up before the bubble as well. With the blinds at 600/1200, Vrabel raised from early position to 3200. He was called by the big blind. The action was check, check on an A

flop. The turn was the 6
, and this time, when checked to, Luke led out for 5K. His opponent called. The river was the 4
, and the big blind checked a third time. Vrabel bet 11.5K this time, and his opponent mucked queens face up in disgust. Luke quietly mucked the winning hand and scooped the pot, moving up over 80K.
Other chip counts include:
Sorel “Imper1um” Mizzi — 80K
Grant “drossxyu” Hinkle — 62K
Nelson “nells316″ Robinson — 40K
Lee “acumen53″ Childs — 21K
Mike “Martine23″ Martin — 20K
Kenny “Hixx” Hicks — 14K
WSOP EVENT #9: $1.5 NLHE 6 Max
Tim “dandickau” Mina just informed us of his bustout from the $1.5K Six-handed event. With blinds at 75/150, Mina called a preflop raise from the cutoff with pocket jacks and the big blind put in a three-bet. The original raiser folded and Mina moved all in for around 8K. The big blind tanked before deciding to call and flipped over AK. The Q-9-9-K-x board was unkind to Mina and he was eliminated midway through Level 3.
Carter “ckingusc” King was another among several eliminations since our last report. King raised to 400 from under the gun and three players called. The flop brought flop T

and King and another player quickly got it all in:
King: 9

Opponent: A

The turn brought a 9, giving King two pair, but a Ten on the river gave his opponent aces and tens for a better two pair, and king missed out on a 25K pot.
We apologizing for reporting only the bad news so far. On the bright side, Jon “sketchy1″ Eaton (pictured right) is up to 14K after doubling up with aces. We’ll have a long list of chip counts for you at the end of Level 4 in about an hour.
