Field Almost Halfway Gone in 6-Max, Baron Busts Two by Jessica on 06.08.09, 8:20 pm

The fast action of a 6-handed table has led to another long list of eliminations including Justin “jurollo” Rollo, Jon “FatalError” Aguiar, Brent “Astrolux85″ Roberts, and Stuart “Stuman123″ Yancik.

Jess must be having some sort of human cooler day though, because despite everyone seemingly ready and willing to get some action going at the tables, she can’t seem to catch any hands in progress.  She did catch one pot shortly before break where it appeared to be raised by Dan O’Brien from under the gun at the 100/200 ante 25 level.  Seth “grtwhitehoop” Fischer (pictured left) called from under the gun plus one and Eric “EFro” Froehlich called from the big blind.  The flop came down AJT and it checked to Seth who fired 2.5K.  Froehlich check-raised all-in and O’Brien and Seth both folded and ran for the door before Froehlich even had all his chips in the pot.  After the hand, Eric was up to 28K, while Fischer dropped to 10K or so.

Here are some updated chip counts going into the second break of the day:

WSOP 2009 Event #18 $10K Limit Omaha

Scott “bigriskky” Clements (pictured left) just joined a table with Bryan “badbeatninja” Devonshire and Barry Greenstein, and as soon as he sit down Devonshire joked, “The deck still hitting you in the head?” Clements has been top ten in chips since the middle of the day yesterday, sporting a stack over 130K.

The joking stopped there though, and Devonshire found himself involved in a big pot.

Action folded to Devonshire, who put in a raise. A player on the button put in a third bet, and Bryan called. The flop came T33, and Devonshire check raised his opponent. The bet was called, and the turn card was the 8. The two got all four bets in quickly, and the player on the button was all in. The hands looked like this:

Devonshire: AK39x
Button: A-J-7-2

Bryan had the high locked, but his opponent could make a low and did when the A spiked to chop the pot. Devonshire was none to happy, for he was a clear favorite to scoop a 30K pot and eliminate his opponent.

WSOP 2009 Event #15 $5K NLHE

Play slowed for a bit in Event #15, because everything had to be set up at the feature table. Originally play was scheduled to continue until there were nine runners, but, due to time constraints, all ten players have been moved to the feature table. They will play there until a champion is crowned.

Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron is competing with Fabian Quoss for the chip lead, taking down a massive pot and eliminating David Pham and Christian Iacobellis. With the blinds at 15K/30K/4K, Pham open shoved for 155K in middle position. The action folded to Baron on the button, who asked for a count of Brian Lemke’s stack in the big blind. Isaac then reshipped over Pham’s original bet. Iacobellis called all in from the small blind and Lemke folded. All three hands were turned up:

Baron: TT
Pham: KQ
Iacobellis: AK

The flop missed everyone, coming J86. Pham and Iaconbellis picked up backdoor draws, but those doors closed with the 7 on the turn. Baron again faded an ace, king or queen on the river with the 5, and eliminated both players. Isaac scooped the pot, and is now up over 2 million in chips.
