Qinghai Pan tried to put in a raise at the 4K/8K ante 1K level, but instead threw out 11K. Since the amount in the pot was less than half the size of a raise, it was ruled a call. Peter “Nordberg” Feldman completed in the small blind and Frank “Frank1the1Tank” Calo checked his option in the big blind. The flop came down T
7
2
and, if we caught the action correctly, it looked as though Feldman and Calo checked to Pan, who bet out 20K. Feldman then check-raised to approximately 70K, Calo folded, and Pan moved all-in. Feldman called and revealed just how costly Pan’s mistake was–he held 2
7
for a flopped two pair, which were ahead of Pan’s Q
Q
. Peter’s hand held as the turn and river ran out A
then 6
to eliminate the player and pad his stack up to 550K.
A little while later at the same table Faraz “The-Toliet0″ Jaka opened for a raise from the button and Ryan “dank stax” Milisits (pictured left) moved his short stack all-in from the big blind. Jaka clearly announced call and the dealer proceeded to grab Jaka’s cards and inexplicably pull them into the muck. Milisits heard him say call and turned up his 5
5
as Jaka’s hand was being mucked. Jaka stood up in shock and exclaimed, “I called!” The table confirmed that he quite clearly said call and a floor person was called to the scene. The floor instructed the dealer to retrieve Jaka’s cards from the muck. He told the dealer he had A
4
, but the hand she pulled out of the muck was 4
4
. Intriguing, no?
It gets better.
The floor person then instructs the dealer to root through the muck, locate the A
, return the 4
to its rightful place in the muck, and then take the muck and shuffle it back into the deck. You follow that? We know. Iz crazy. The newly muckified deck then dealt out a flop of 7
5
4
. The turn was the 5
giving Milisit quads, which gave Milisit the double up to 195K
Ravi “govshark2″ Raghaven grinded the short stack all day, but recently headed home to rest up for the Main Event when his pocket aces failed to hold against his oppnent’s pocket jacks and he was eliminated.

WSOP 2009 Event #54: $1.5K NLHE
Play was speedy to say the least over at the $1.5K NLHE final table. When we last checked in with you there were six players left. Now they are down to two. When we caught some of the action earlier in the hour, we saw Joe “JoeBlazeNYC20″ Chaplin double up at the 30K/60K ante 5K level when the player under the gun opened for a rasie to 175K and Chaplin reraised 500K on top. It folded back around to the initial raiser, who moved all-in. Chaplin decided he was committed to the hand and called, having the other player slightly covered. Joe showed A
J
which was trailing the pocket kings of his opponent. The A
Q
4
flop was just about the best flop Chaplin could ask for though and when the turn and river came 2
, 9
, Chaplin busted the player and essentially doubled up to around 3.5 million.
Chaplin’s luck appears to have taken a turn for the worse since then though and we just got word he was eliminated in 3rd place, earning $276,029. Congratulations on the final table Joe.
Heads-up play is down to Jason “jdpc27″ Wheeler and Tony Veckey. Wheeler has around 8 million chips while his opponent sits with just shy of five million.
