Jonathan “apestyles” Van Fleet (pictured at left) was all in on the flop against Kevin “ImALucSac” MacPhee we walked up to their table in the $3K NLHE Triple Chance event. MacPhee had apparently led out for 6.6K on the J

flop because the chips were still out in front of his stack. It didn’t look like Van Fleet had put any chips into the pot, but MacPhee’s tortured mannerisms let us know that he was the one with the decision.
He struggled with what to do for quite a while before eventually calling for all his chips. Van Fleet tabled A
A
while MacPhee showed T
9
. The turn was the 2
and the river was the K
and MacPhee was eliminated.
The two players did a short debrief after the hand that ended with an apologetic Van Fleet saying, “I feel bad busting you though, dude.”
Eric “whitE_mAmbA” Ladny was also busted by aces. Ladney was all in pre-flop with J

but couldn’t overcome his opponent’s A

board.
Blake “Balla-B13″ Cahail has played a couple of big pots thus far today. In one hand, the player in seat seven raised to 3.1K before the flop with the blinds at 600/1200 with an ante of 100 and Cahail called from the cutoff. The flop was A
A
8
. Seat seven checked and Cahail followed suit. The turn was the T
. Seat seven led out for 4.5K and Cahail raised to 12K. The other player then moved all in and Cahail made the call. He turned over A
Q
but his opponent had out-flopped him with his 8
8
. The river was the J
, which was no help to Cahail. The loss cost him a total of 24.1K after the flop.
A little while later we caught Cahail putting an opponent all in on the river with the board reading K
K
Q
Q

. The player in seat six had led out for 7K on the river and Cahail raised 24K more, or almost exactly as much as was in the man’s stack. The other player thought for a while, at one point staring Cahail down for several seconds, before eventually deciding to make the call. Cahail quickly turned over K
K
for quad kings and the other player laughed a little before mucking and hitting the rail. Cahail was back up to where he started the day with 120K after the victory.
Andy “BKiCe” Seth almost doubled up when his A-10 held up against another player’s K-Q. Seth increased his stack to 43K while the other player was eliminated.
Anthony “holdplz” Spinella has apparently been eliminated from the event. Before his own exit, MacPhee said he saw Spinella leaving the tournament area.
Other chip counts:

WSOP 2009 Event #54: $1.5K NLHE
Joe “Dyzalot” Morneau (pictured at left) continues to build his chip stack in the latest $1.5K NLHE event. We watched as he limp reraised over the top of another short-stacked players’ all-in at the 100/200 blind level. He showed pocket kings to his opponent’s pocket queens and they held up to add another 4K pot to his stack. He is now up to 25K — the average is around 7.5K.
Another player sitting well above average is Jamie “mmwawa” Kerstetter. We watched her knock out a short stack on a T

flop. The other player moved all-in during the multi-way pot for his last 800 chips or so and Jamie decided to look him up with pocket eights. She was behind his J-10 for top pair, but the 8
on the turn gave Kerstetter the lead. The river was an inconsequential 2
. The other player hit the rail and Jamie built her stack up to 15K.
Fresh off an impressive score in the Venetian Deep Stack $2K Event, Garrett “GBecks” Beckman is treading water in today’s event. He had about 6K at the start of a hand where a player raised to 550 from middle position and Garrett called out of the big blind. Both players checked the flop and the turn as the board ran out A
T
T

and Beckman checked a third time after the 9
hit on the river. His opponent quickly bet out 750 and Garrett thought a good minute or two before calling. When his opponent turned over A
7
, he mucked his hand and dropped to just under 5K in chips.
