Falling Fast in the $40K

It didn’t take long for the remaining 89 players in the 40K NLHE buy-in to get their chips into play. The players returned to begin Level 11 with the blinds at 2.5K/5K with a 500 ante.

. Moorman appeared to have about 130K after the hand.
Mike “SirWatts” Watson and Amit “amak316″ Makhija weren’t so lucky. Watts was eliminated after a three-way all-in among PocketFivers. Shawn “sbuck21″ Buchanan ended up more than doubling up in the hand when his pocket queens help up against Watson’s AQ and James “mig.com” Mackey’s 66. Mackey still had more than 100K after the hand and Buchanan looked to be approaching the 200K mark.
Makhija moved in for his last 70K on a flop of QJ6 and Mike Matusow shoved over the top for a total of 110K. Makhija’s AK was far behind Matusow’s AA. The Q and 7 were no help to Amit and he was sent home. Matusow quickly hopped onto his phone to tweet about his victory.
Shortly after we caught Shawn “sbuck21″ Buchanan being eliminated by James “mig.com” Mackey. With the blinds at 2.5K/5K/500 ante, Buchanan raised from early position to 12.5K and Mackey moved all in for over 120K from middle position, effectively putting Buchanan in for all of his chips if he made the call. He pushed his chips into the middle and flipped over TT, which led Mackey’s KQ. The JJ5Q7 board fell in Mackey’s favor, however, and Buchanan was sent to the rail.
Eighty of the original 201 players are still alive. David “raptor” Benefield is still clinging onto a short stack.
