Eying the Final Table

Event #36 has restarted in the Green Section of the Amazon Room, and there have already been four eliminations today. With every elimination Jack “doctor_fun” Powell, Joe “Dyzalot” Morneau, Jordan “scarface_79″ Smith and Jonathan “therookieqq9″ Plens (pictured left) inch closer to the final table.
Smith padded his stack with a recent knockout. Jonathan opened to 55K and Johnny Necker shoved all in behind him. Smith snap-called with KK which dominated Necker’s JJ. The board was king high and Necker was sent to the rail. Jordan’s stack ballooned above 2 million and he is our resident chip leader.
Plens is sticking around after winning a race. Jonathan got it all in with A6 which out ran the 22 of Andrew Seden. Plens stays alive and is just under 500K in chips.

. Burbick needed some help and although the AQ3 flop gave his opponent two-pair, Corey picked up a gut-shot straight draw. The T gave him that straight but his opponent held the only diamond. The river blanked with the 4 and Burbick doubled to 3.6K.
Jason “JCarver” Somerville is sitting with Jon “sketchy1″ Eaton in the Brasilia Room. Somerville had tickets to today’s UFC fight but forgot when he registered for the event. Jason can’t be too upset about missing the fight, he’s very healthy in the early going with 8K in chips.
Gavin Smith just sent a player home holding a monster; J2. We missed the action pre-flop, but Smith slam dunked his chips in the middle and tabled his cards thunderously after his opponent went all-in on a J62 flop. His opponent sheepishly turned over KK and didn’t catch up.
“What? It was suited,” Gavin explained to the table. “Look I was hoping to win without a showdown. If it’s suited we’re playing.”
