In the last $2K NLHE event before the one that started up on Thursday, Eric “whitE_mAmbA” Ladny made it all the way to the final table thanks in part to catching runner-runner flush in a 500K pot with T
9
after flopping the second-best straight in the hand on day two of the event.
He was eliminated on day one this time, by the man he sucked out on in that hand. The hand itself didn’t have the same excitement level — Ladny shoved ten big blinds with A-J and was called by A-K — but were sure the man was happy to rid his table of Ladny.
“I’ll call it even,” Ladny said. “He probably won’t.”
Joe “Dyzalot” Morneau added to his chip stack after sending a player home. Morneau isolated a player with 9
9
and forced the dangerous Brandon Wong to fold. Morneau’s opponent tabled A
J
and the race was on. The J
9
6
board crushed Joe’s opponent, and the 7
on the turn ended it. A meaningless 8
fell on the river and Morneau chipped up to 45K.
Blair “blur5f6″ Hinkle has also been eliminated. He raised to 2.1K pre-flop and got one caller. The flop was T
8
2
. Both players checked and the turn was the Q
. Hinkle checked again and his opponent bet 5K. Hinkle moved all in and the other player called. Hinkle showed A
J
, but his opponent held A
A
. There was no diamond for Hinkle on the river, just a meaningless pair with the J
and he hit the rail.
Thomas “plzlemmewin” Gabriel just doubled his short stack with pocket aces against the pocket two of another player. The flop of A
4
3
gave Gabriel a bit of a sweat but the turn with the Q
and the river was the J
.
Other chip counts from around the room:

Jeremiah “Believer82″ Vinsant - 50K
Bryan Micon - 30K
Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby - 16K

Kevin Saul - 10K
WSOP EVENT #34: $1.5K NLHE
Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin and Jonas Klausen are now heads up for the bracelet in Event No. 34. Baldwin has a small chip lead as play gets underway. Whoever gets in the win, it’ll be another World Series title for PocketFivers this year!
WSOP 2009 EVENT #37 $10K STUD 8 OR BETTER
Scott “bigriskky” Clements is off to a fast start in Event #37. We saw Clements scoop a nice pot recently, and the hands looked like this:
Clements: X-X-3
4
7
K
-X
Opponent: X-X-8
J
5
5
-X
Scott led out on fourth and fifth street and both bets were called. After pairing on sixth, Clements’ opponent opted to check and call another bet. The action went check call again on seventh, and Scott tabled A
A
4
for two pair and no qualifying low. His opponent mucked, and Clements’ stack grew to 67K.
WSOP 2009 EVENT #35 $5K PLO
Mike “SirWatts” Watson recently busted from Event #35. Watson was short and got his last 60K in with top pair and a couple of backdoor draws, but found himself up against aces and blockers. Mike couldn’t catch a second queen or second pair, and was eliminated in 22nd place for $14,433
The field is now down to 15, and even after a redraw, Sorel “Imper1um” Mizzi, Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy and Isaac “Mr. Menlo” Baron are still seated together. Even more amazing is that they have the three biggest stacks in the room:
Mizzi: 700K
Josephy: 690K
Baron: 500K (pictured right)
Together they own over 30% of the chips in play.
