As Level 3 came to a close a number of players headed for the door, including Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul, Matt “mattg1983″ Graham, and Shaun Deeb (pictured left). Deeb’s elimination was particularly ugly. Curt Kohlberg raised and Deeb put in a sizeable reraise. Kohlberg then put in another raise and Deeb moved all in for just a small amount more, pricing Kohlberg in to call. Deeb held pocket nines while Kohlberg, who appeared to have gotten caught with his hand in the cookie jar, showed 3

Richard “Lee Nickel” Fohrenbach and a number of other P5ers like are taking advantage of the event’s slow structure with the hope that slow and steady wins the race. Fohrenbach said he hasn’t had any big hands since he flopped top set early in Level 1, but he has managed to build his stack up to 50K. Other players who have been gradually increasing their chip counts each level include Jason “JP_OSU” Potter (51K), Jamie “TheCronic420″ Rosen (49K), and Jordan “scarface_79″ Smith (40K).
The players remaining in the field received a pleasant surprise when Beau Rivage tournament officials announced they would be adding $24,000 to the prize pool in order to make first prize worth an even $1 million.
