WSOP 2008
The play in Event #52, the $1.5K No-Limit Hold’em tournament, has finally condensed into the blue section of the Amazon room and is down to nine-handed tables as they approach the money. The field reduced to 350 of 2,693 at the end of Level 8; the money bubble should burst when 270 players remain.
Action continued, fast and furious, as several PocketFivers were trying to race to catch up with the average stack; PocketFives caught up with Josh “pbdrunks” Van Duyn as he was all in preflop for 7.5K against one other opponent. Another player at the table grilled PocketFives staff on who Josh was and if he’d be embarrassed to see a bad bust out hand on the internet; Josh chuckled good-naturedly. His opponent ended up folding his hand, but the forfeited chips in the pot increased Josh’s stack to 14K, still shy of the average 23K stack.
Meanwhile, Danny “THE_D_RY” Ryan (pictured at left) managed to more than double up when he got all his chips in pre-flop with A

and a set of aces sent the whole pot Danny’s way. His stack increased to a little less than 30K and he flashed his signature smile.
Another short stack looking to make a move is Scott “gunning4you” Seiver, who sat with about 14K in front of him. However, Cody “thugmoneymakr” Slaughbaugh sported a 59K stack and seemed to be dominating his table going into the break; we will keep up with the action as he looks to continue the major chip accumulation!
