A lot of chips have been moving through the stack of James “mig.com” Mackey lately. First off he lost a big pot to Mike Krescanko when the two were all in preflop with Mackey’s pocket jacks dominated by the pocket kings of Krescanko. The bigger pair held up and the 550k pot went to Mike while Mackey was left with just over 200k.
Soon the chips were in the middle again, with Mackey raising to 120k from the button (blinds 5k/10k) leaving himself only 35k behind. Prahlad Friedman moved all in from the big blind and Mackey quickly called his few remaining chips. Prahlad had AK and Mackey was just trying to pick up the blinds with his Q
7
but his two live cards served him well as the board came 9-8-7-7-6 giving Mackey trips and the pot. He is back up 325k after the hand and Prahlad has dropped to around 200k.
Todd “tbt4653″ Terry was able to send another player to the rail. Steven Chao moved in for less than 100k and Terry called with pocket queens. Chao had QJ and couldn’t overcome the larger pair of Terry. Chao’s 18th place finish brought the first pay jump since making the money, earning him $22,240.
Terry and Steven Begleiter are still leading the way with over a million chips each.
