Jonathan “FieryJustice” Little (left) started the day 3rd from the bottom in the chip counts, but he was able to get an early double up to get things going in the right direction. For eight other players so far the day not only did not start well, it also ended quickly.
Little was all in preflop in the early going against Shawn Cunix. Little held K-J while Shawn was in bad shape with the J-T. The Q-8-9 flop looked like gin for Cunix, but Little was able to hit a T on the turn to make a bigger straight and claim the pot to double his stack and leave Cunix short. Shawn was eliminated soon after in 53rd place, following the eliminations of Tim Vance and Tuan Le that started the day.
Allen Cunningham started the day right in the middle of the pack, but after running kings into aces all in preflop the highly touted pro made an early exit today in 47th place for 28,825 while Ben Straate has seen his stock in this tournament skyrocket. He is now the chip leader with over 1 million chips.
In less than half a level the field has dropped from 55 to 47 players.
