Double Ups For Charania and Newman by Court on 03.17.09, 7:24 pm

Out of the 256 players that started day 1B 46 have already been eliminated and many more have had their tournament lifes at risk.  Blake “Balla-B13″ Cahail, Mohsin “ChicagoCards1″ Charania, and Clayton “Clayton_27″ Newman have all had the blue all in button in front of them and all have survived.  For Charania and Newman, double ups were the order of the day, while Cahail was able t o increase his stack without a showdown when his opponent folded to his pot sized all in bet.

Kevin “BeL0WaB0Ve” Saul
had a chance to pick up a $5k bounty and eliminate Eli Elezra, but his flopped two pair didn’t hold up against the AK of Elezra after the chips went in on a KT7 flop.  Elezra made his flush with the 9 on the turn, and if that hadn’t done the trick the A on the river would also have given him a bigger two pair over Saul’s KT.  Kevin was down to 12k after the hand while Eli doubled to nearly 45k.

Charania was all in with a flush draw, needing the 5 for a straight flush.  He got there, making the straight flush to double up to 45k.  Blake Cahail (right) moved all in for 8,375 into a pot of about 8,500 on the river of a board showing Q8669.  His opponent tanked for a few minutes before surrendering the pot to Cahail who had around 17k after the hand.

An aggressive player at his table forced Clayton (left) to decide to make a stand.  Newman opened from the button for 600 and the aggressive player raised to 2,600 from the big blind.  Clayton put in another bet to 6,100 and was called.  On the 8 high flop with 2 hearts the player out of the big blind check called a 6,500 chip bet from Newman.   The 5 on the turn prompted the player to then move all in and Clayton called off his last 18k or so chips with pocket tens.  He was up against AQ with the A and his pair of tens help up to win the 60k+ chip pot for Newman.

Peter “Nordberg” Feldman was able to collect the $5k bounty on David Williams head when Feldman’s flopped straight held up against Williams’ flush draw.  Phil “USCPhildo” Collins has also been eliminated, reportedly losing a coinflip with AK against pocket queens to be sent to the sidelines.
