As day 2 winds down, more and more all in pots are emerging. The result, barring a chopped pot or some other weird occurence, are either a double up or an elimination. For Markus “LURPED” Gonsalves and James “mig.com” Mackey the double up has been the method of choice and both have seen their stock in the LAPC go up accordingly.
Gonsalves was all in against Mike “SowersUNCC” Sowers for his last 19,700 and a hot Sowers looked like he would add another 20k to his 200k+ stack when the cards were turned up. Sowers had the A
K
and was in dominating position over the K
6
for Gonsalves. The flop came T
7
6
though and Markus hit his 3 outer to take the lead in the hand. With the 9
and the 3
filling out the board Markus was able to double up to just over 40k.
James “mig.com” Mackey has been building chips recently, and after eliminating Mike Matusow he was all in against another big name player, Hoyt Corkins. After Hoyt made it 2,700 preflop Mackey raised to 8k and then Hoyt moved all in. Mackey quickly called and Hoyt said “I made a mistake” before James turned over his A
Q
. A mistake it was as Hoyt’s A
8
was dominated and did not improve on the K

board. Mackey’s all in was for 32,400 and he has now doubled that amount and has around 65k.
While others were doubling up, Keven “Stamdogg” Stammen (left) lost his coinflip for a double up. He moved all in preflop for 15,600 and Chris Ferguson made the call. After everyone else folded Stammen turned over his A
K
while Ferguson showed the J
J
. The board came ten high and that was the end of the road for Stammen in the LAPC Main Event.
After spending much of the tournament with a relatively short stack, Isaac “Mr. Menlo” Baron has been able to hang tough. He recently picked up a small pot against Jeff “ActionJeff” Garza to continue to build his stack. On a T

2
flop Garza led out for 5,500 and Baron called. With the 4
turn Garza checked to Isaac and then folded when Baron bet 8k.
