Dinner Time in the 2K by Rich on 06.19.09, 10:17 pm

After four levels of play it is time for dinner in Event #36. Here are some of the top stories from the past hour.

It seems as if chips are gravitating towards Christian “charder30″ Harder (pictured left) . During the last level we saw him get it all in with AT against an opponent’s 77. There was a ten on the flop, the turn was a ten and the river was a blank. Harder’s opponent was eliminated and Christian is among the chip leaders with 228K.

Jason Gray is having no problem chipping up either. With the blinds at 1200/2400/300 a player raised to 7K from early position. Action folded to Gray who made it 20K from middle position. The original raiser immediately shoved when action returned to him, and Gray called even faster. The hands were tabled:

Gray: KK
Opponent: 99

The Q87 brought some backdoor draws for Gray’s opponent, and the J on the turn was a dangerous card. But the Q on the river paired the board and doubled Gray’s stack. Jason can enjoy his dinner break knowing he sits above the chip average with 150K.

We’re not sure if Chris “Beanmo” Mozingo is a member of Pocketfives. But Mozingo is a valued member of the online poker community as an instructor for PokerXFactor (you’re welcome, mindwise) so we decided to throw him into our coverage today.

Mozingo had been doing some damage at his table in the $2K NLHE event but recently took a hit to his stack. With the blinds at 1K/2K Mozingo raised to 6K from the cutoff and the player on the button (who we found out is Robert Cheung) moved all in for 48K. Action folded back around to Mozingo and he made the call:

Cheung: KQ
Mozingo: TT

The KK6 flop was unkind to Mozingo was he failed to improve on the turn and river, leaving him with 150K.

Players have gone on ther 60-minute minute break and will return at 7:38 p.m. There are 93 remaining and the average stack is 109K. Here’s a look at the P5ers still in the field:

Jonathan “therookieqq9″ Plens - 249K
