‘DFish’ On a Roll by Brett on 06.24.09, 3:15 am

Darryll “DFish” Fish took a small hit in the $10K PLHE event since we last checked in, but regained those chips in a pot against Full Tilt pro Erick Lindgren. We missed the pre-flop action and when we arrived the board read T84. Lindgren checked and Fish bet half the pot. Lindgren raised to near 30K and Fish instantly potted. Lindgren called off the rest of his stacked and tabled JT for top pair. Fish was behind with 76, but a five or nine would give him a straight or runner-runner hearts would give him a flush. The 2 on the turn didn’t changed anything, but the 5 on the river gave Darryll an eight-high straight. Erick bolted towards the rail while Fish stacked his newfound chips. Darryll is still at the top with 230K.

Chris “Genius28″ Lee is up above the average stack after taking out a player in Level 8. Lee and an opponent got it all in preflop, Lee holding AK against TT. The A on the flop sealed the deal for Lee, who is currently at 116K.

Yevgeniy “atimos” Timoshenko doubled his stack at the same table moments later. With the blinds at 800/1600 Timoshenko moved all in for 8.8K with 77 and was called AK. That board was kind to Yevgeniy, who is still only working with around 10 big blinds.

Alex Jacob eliminated a player before the last break. With the blinds at 600/1200, a player in middle position raised to 3.6K. David Singer called in the cutoff and Jacob raised to 15K on the button. The original raiser shipped his stack all-in, Singer folded and Alex called. The hands were tabled:

Jacob: 99
Opponent: AK

The dealer flopped 873, a nice sweat for Jacob. The was the 6, and Jacob needed to dodge an ace, king or club. He did so when the 5 fell on the river, giving him a meaningless straight. The stacks were counted, and Jacob’s 30K stack stood slightly taller than his opponent’s, eliminating him. Going into the break Alex boasted a 60K stack.

Several P5ers have hit the rail since the dinner break, including Steven “PiKappRaider” Burkholder, Jeremiah “Believer82″ Vinsant, Scott “dorinvandy” Dorin and David “Bakes” Baker. Another sent home was Clark “snake8484″ Hamagami. With the blinds at 600/1200, Erick Lindgren raised to 3K from middle position, the cutoff called, Darryll Fish called, and Hamagami raised to 10.2K. Lingren folded, the cutoff moved all in for 40K and Fish folded. Hamagami called off his last 20K with AK but needed help against his opponent’s KK. Clark picked up some more outs on the QT6 flop but failed to improve.

One interesting side note: Ivan Demidov is seated at the same table as girlfriend Liya Gerasimova. Should be interesting to see what happens there the rest of the evening. Here are some chip counts midway through Level 9 with 110 players remaining:
