DeWitt, Somerville Eyeing Second Final Table

A handful of P5ers have a shot at glory today as the $3K Triple Chance NLHE and $1.5K Seven Card Stud events prepare to play down to a winner. Jason “TheMasterJ33″ DeWitt takes the chip lead into the final day of the $3K Triple Chance, boasting 1.59 million chips when players take their seats at 1:00 p.m. local time. Michael “Bonzo9876″ Katz (356K), Jason “JCarver” Somerville (320K) and Eric “Rizen” Lynch (230K) are still in contention for the bracelet and $506,800 prize. DeWitt and Somerville each have a final table during this year’s WSOP are each focused on making a second trip to the ESPN featured stage.
Zac “traction” Gilbert will take a below-average stack into Day 3 of the $ 1.5K Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo event but he has plenty of room to maneuver. Gillbert will enter play with 110K in chips and betting limits at 7,000/14,000. Other notables in the field are Chad Brown, Allie Prescott and Matt Savage. Today’s winner will walk away with $159,390
Day 2 of the $1.5K No Limit Hold’em Event (#54) kicks off at 2:00 p.m. Craig “MrCasino” Gray, Joe “Dyzalot” Morneau and Jorge “twin-caracas” Arias are among the leaders with 376 of the original 2,818 returning. They’ll attempt to get down to a final table of nine by the end of the night. We’ll have a comprehensive list of the P5ers still alive in our next post.
Craig “craigthedeac” Boyd, Andy “BKiCe” Seth, Jamie “thecronic420″ Rosen, Jason “JAKoon1985″ Koon and Justin “lockdowntex” Allen are among those we’ve spotted this afternoon for today’s $5K Six-handed NLHE event. There are 650 players registered already with more expected during the first two levels. It has the potential to create one of the biggest prize pools of this year’s WSOP. Play got underway just after Noon local time with players receiving 15,000 chips at 50/100 blinds.
