The players have just returned from dinner here at Day 1B of the Main Event. And, less than twenty minutes into level three, Shaun Deeb’s (pictured at left) stack is about one-third what it was when he left his table for the break after running into a set twice.
The player in seat one raised to 600 with the blinds at 150/300. The player on the button then re-raised to 2K and Deeb made the call from the small blind. The player in seat one also called and the flop was 8

. Deeb checked and the player in seat one splashed 8K into the pot. The button folded and Deeb put out a stack of orange chips, which was clearly enough to put the guy all in.
“Does that put me all in?” the guy asked after a moment. “OK, I’m all in.”
Then he turned over 8

. Deeb rolled his eyes as he turned up his T
T
. The turn was the 2
and the river was the 4
. Deeb lost the pot and dropped below 50K in chips.
Just a few hands later Deeb raised to 3,150 on a flop of Q
8
4
after the player in seat three led out for 1K. Seat three then made it 7K. Deeb moved all in and he was quickly called. He showed A
Q
but the other player was way ahead with his Q
Q
. The turn 7
and river 9
were no help and Deeb was left with 25K in chips.
“All in on Table 74!” That’s what we heard before rushing over to catch Jerry “herschelw” Watterson with most of stack in preflop against Hoyt Corkins. Watterson held A
J
against Corkins’ A
K
. The board ran out K
T

and Corkins doubled up to 40K. Watterson was left with 7.5K. Well missed all of the preflop action, but according to a fellow reporter on the scene Corkins limped for 300, Watterson raised to 950, Corkins moved all in and Watterson called. We’ll try to get confirmation from Jerry before our next update.
