Freddy Deeb (right) was one card away from taking a significant chip lead and making the Festa al Lago WPT final table a 3-handed event. Freddy had opened for 400k and Tommy Vedes raised to 1.25 million. Freddy checked to see what Tommy had left and then announced he was all in. Vedes had started the hand with just over 3 million chips and he called the rest of them off after Freddy moved him in.
Tommy had pocket queens but was way behind the kings of Deeb. The 6 million chip pot was almost added to Freddy’s stack as the board came out J

but then a Q
on the river hit the 2 outer for Vedes and saved him yet again from elimination. “The lady’s love me,” Vedes had said when he saw he was all in against kings and in this case he it worked out for him. The double up put Vedes in the chip lead and he was able to add to that lead soon after when he finished off Deeb.
Freddy open shoved for 975k and Vedes made the call. This time Freddy was behind with his A

needing to improve against the 6

of Vedes but the 8

board was brought no improvement for Deeb and he was eliminated in 4th place for 278,000.
After Vedes ended Deeb’s run Jason “StatusUp” Lavallee was able to eliminate Craig Crivello and send the action to heads up play. Jason had raised to 280k and Crivello moved all in for 1.95 million. Lavallee called the all in with his pocket tens and was racing against the two overs Craig had with his K

and with that Crivello (left) was out 3rd for $477,090.
The two eliminations leave Jason Lavallee and Tommy Vedes heads up for the title. Vedes holds a chip leads with 9,190,000 while Lavallee has 7,300,000 to work with going into heads up play. Heads up play will begin with the players at the 60k / 120k 10k ante level.
The two are fighting it out for the difference between the $1.2 million first prize and the almost $800,000 for second place along with all the ansillary benefits and pride of being a WPT champion.
