Ray “WirdPair” Foley (pictured right) and Matt “mattg1983″ Graham this morning picked up the 11th and 12th World Series of Poker gold bracelets for P5ers this year, joining Jason “treysfull21′ Mercier, Rami “arbianight” Boukai, Keven “stamdogg” Stammen, Brock “t_soprano” Parker (twice), Zac “Zacpacker” Fellows, Brian “ship_the_perc” Lemke, Leo “SuperfluousMan” Wolpert, Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin and Jordan “scarface_79″ Smith as 2009 WSOP champions. Foley bested the prominent Brandon Cantu heads up for the $1,500 NLHE Event #39 title while Graham came from behind to defeat Vitaly Lunkin and win the $10,000 PLO World Championship.
We have more online stars on the verge of greatness today. Andrew “luckychewey” Lichtenberger and Peter “Belabacsi” Traply will face off in a five-player sit-and-go for the $5,000 NLHE Shootout title. Each have defeated two tables to punch their ticket to the final table.Nasr El Nasr, Maxim Lykov and Danny Wong will join them when play gets underway at 2:00 p.m. The winner will receive $348,728.
Fourteen players will return for Day 3 of the $2,500 Mixed Games Event (#42). Jon “PearlJammer” Turner is the chip leader with 469K while Eric “jakz101″ Crain (210.6K), Chris “SLOPPYKLOD” Klodnicki (153.4K), Blair Rodman (139.8K), Rami “arbianight” Boukai (137.7K), and Jimmy “gobboboy” Fricke (47.4K) are in contention for the $241,637 payday.
Day 2 of the $1,000 Seniors Event and $2,500 Razz Event will also resume at 2:00 p.m. Bud “BudmansCom” Stowe is still going strong in the Seniors Event with 16.1K in chips while Justion Bonomo, Daniel “amichaiKK” Makowsky and Ryan “gotskillz” Fisler are amonth the leaders in the Razz tournament.
The $10K Pot Limit Hold ‘em Event (#45) kicked off at Noon. We saw Jeremiah “Believer82″ Vinsant, Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby and Billy “Patrolman35″ Kopp waiting to take their seats on our way in. Almost 200 players have registered with more expected before the end of Level 2.
