‘Cool’ In Defeat by Rachel on 06.14.09, 9:00 pm

Corey “comandr_cool” Burbick had worked his chip count up to 115K at one point today, but the highly-ranked P5er’s stack plummeted in the most recent level of the $1.5K NLHE Event #28. We found Burbick (pictured right) calling a preflop raise of 6K with blinds at 1K/2K ante 300. Action folded around to the big blind, who moved all in for 25.5K. The original raiser folded and Burbick decided to call off a decent portion of his stack with AQ, which needed help against KK. The 5443J board was no improvement to his hand and he quietly pushed his lost chips across the table. He was left with 53K, well below the tournament average.

Another online star we came across was Peter “breeth” Turmezey, who also recently took a hit. Turmezey raised to 4K at 800/1600 and the player in the big blind called. The flop brough 935 and the big blind moved all in for 22K. Turmezey insta-called with AT, which was a very slight favorite over his opponent’s K9. Peter failed to hit one of his outs on the turn and river and a pot worth more than 50K was sent to his opponent. Turmezey still has close to 50K.

Marco “CrazyMarco” Johnson has been very active at his table. He saw him lead out for a 20.5K bet on the river with the board reading K9453. His opponent called, saying if Marco had a king it was good. Johnson tabled KQ and scooped a big pot. The other person showed two tens before mucking his hand. Johnson is now up to 153K.

David “Doc_Sands” Sands told us he busted a player when A-Q suited defeated the other player’s A-J and added another 47K to his already big stack. He had 160K on our last visit to his table.

There are 148 players going strong with the average stack at 80K. Here’s a look at the P5ers still in the field:

David “Doc_Sands” Sands - 160K
Marco “CrazyMarco” Johnson - 153K
Michael “inissint” Glasser - 57K
Jason “JPOSU” Potter - 55K
Corey “comandr_cool” Burbick - 53K
Peter “breeth” Turmezey - 50K
Luke “bdbeatslayer” Vravel - 30K
Andrew “tufat23″ Teng - 23K

WSOP EVENT #30: $2.5K POT-LIMIT OMAHA

With a raise to 650 in front of him, Adam Junglen (pictured left) made a pot-size re-raise to 2,850 on a flop of KQ3 in the $2.5K PLO event. The player in seat seven then raised the pot again, making it 7.4K total. The raise was for most of Junglen’s remaining stack and he decided to go all in. The other player called and Junglen turned over QQT5. We didn’t catch the other players hand because it was quickly mucked after the J turn and the 6 river. Junglen now has about 25K in front of him, well above the chip average of 16K.

Jared “TheWacoKidd” Hamby busted from the event during the last level, cutting the massage he was getting short. We also can’t find Jason “treysfull21″ Mercier or Justin “Boosted J” Smith in the field. They’ll both have to settle for playing in the next round of the $10K heads-up event, which will begin soon.

Before the players left on their last break we gathered up as many chip counts as we could:

Mike “SirWatts” Watson - 44K
Clayton “Clayton27″ Newman - 31.5K
Jordan “scarface_79″ Smith -25K
Darryll “DFish” Fish - 24K
Jordan Morgan - 9.5K
Cliff “JohnnyBax” Josephy - 8.3K
