WSOP 2008
Alex “42oneverloses” Case’s (pictured right)$26 investment on a Full Tilt satellite is looking pretty good as he is one of the top stacks at 78k in the 1.5k NL WSOP Event #49.
Case (pictured at right) won a monster hand about an hour ago when he raised K

and got three callers. On a Q

flop, Case was already looking at a bet and raise by the time it got to him. With his double draw, Case went all-in and ended up isolating against his opponents 5

. Case hit a King on the turn won a 60k pot to bring his stack to its current level.

After losing several key confrontations in the $2K No Limit Hold Em WSOP Event #48, Adam “akat11″ Katz was down to under 120K with the blinds at 6K/12K ante 1K when he got in a blind versus blind confrontation. Both Adam in the big blind and the player in the small blind were the shortest stacks at the table, so Katz was not surprised at all when the small blind shoved all-in after it folded around to him. Katz quickly made the call with 9

and was surprised to discover his opponent had a big hand as well–A
K
. Adam managed to win his race when the board ran out 8

and the other player was eliminated. After the hand, Katz was up to 240K.
Earlier, Eric “jakz101″ Crain bragged to Pocket Fives that he got a player to lay down pocket kings on a queen high flop. Well, apparently Eric is at it again. Crain raised to 30K preflop and another player then reraised to 90K. Eric shoved all-in for 327K more and the player thought for a couple of minutes. Eventually he announced, “I am going to lay this down” and mucked his pocket queens face up. A few minutes after the chips were pushed Eric’s way, his tablemate, Dan “Wretchy” Martin said what may have been on many people’s minds: “all I have to say to you sir is, ‘must be nice.’” Crain now has a 450K chip stack.
Some other notable chip counts with 26 players remaining include Marco “CrazyMarco” Johnson (600K), Darren “DABADESTCHIC” Nelson (400K), and Dan “Wretchy” Martin (380K)
