Ca-da! Joe Cada Ends Day 1C with 187K by Jessica on 07.06.09, 4:17 am

Joe “jcada99″ Cada (pictured at left) couldn’t believe he was the tournament chip leader when we told him near the end of they day. But he cracked a smile when he saw his name appear at the top of the big screen. Cada bagged up 187,225 chips when play concluded, which is unofficially the most after the first three Day Ones. “I’m finally getting my run-good,” he told Justin “looshle” Pechie. “Especially after that ElkY hand.” Cada was referring to his deep run in Event #34 in which he was eliminated in 17th place when Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier his a two-outer on the river against him. That tournament was eventually won by Eric “basbaldy” Baldwin.

On the last hand of the night Andy “BKiCe” Seth suffered from a dealer’s mistake. When we reached Table 11 there were four cards on the board, A-7-9-2, but that was supposed to be the flop. A tournament director ruled that the “flop” would be reshuffled into the deck and three new cards would be delivered. The dealer did so, and the new flop fell 842. Seth’s opponent checked-called a 3.1K bet and the dealer turned the 7. Andy’s opponent checked-called an 8.5K bet. The river was the J and Seth fired a third, 16.5K bullet when checked to. His opponent called one last time and Andy tabled 32. His opponent slammed 44 on the table and was awarded the 58K pot.

Andy scolded the dealer after the hand and after quickly bagging his 72K stack, he dashed out of the Amazon Room.

Brett “Gank” Jungblut too was furious at a dealer in the Orange Section, but the dealer did no wrong. The board read J858 when the dealer brought the 9 on the river. Jungblut checked and his opponent bet 11K. Brett jumped up in his chair and began talking to himself. Finally, after much debate, Jungblut tossed in three orange 5K chips for the call. His opponent turned over 99 for a rivered full house. Brett about lost it.

“What a f^%#ing gem sir,” he spat at the dealer.

Jungblut refused to release his hand. The dealer asked him kindly to do so and Brett demanded his change. The dealer obliged, Jungblut released and stormed away from the table. According to Brett’s Twitter he held aces and was ahead before the river.

Darryll “DFish” Fish and Justin “BoostedJ” Smith butted heads during the last half hour of play. Action checked to Smith on the turn who bet 1.2K with the board reading AJ29. He received two callers including Fish. The river was the 3 and Fish led out for 2.5K. Justin raised to 11.7K and the third player opted to get out of the way. Fish tanked for a few minutes before splashing the pot with a call. Smith roller over A9 and Darryll mucked.
