After defeating Kathy Liebert in heads up play Steve Brecher (right) has claimed the title at the Bay 101 Shooting Star World Poker Tour tournament and gets the $5k bounty for eliminating Liebert.  The $5k seems kind of insignificant though, since the victory itself it worth $1 million dollars and a $25,500 seat into the WPT Championship in April.

Leibert went into the heads up battle short stacked, and stayed that way.  On the last hand she was all in with the QT against Brecher’s A9 and had a lot of chances to double up on a board of 6622 but with the 4 on the turn Brecher was able to clinch the title and leave Liebert just short at another WPT final table, though falling short in 2nd place still nets her a nice $550,000 payday.
