Braband and Grippo are Busto by Rich on 06.08.09, 4:50 pm

Both Tom “titantom32″ Braband (pictured left) and Nick “Grip” Grippo suffered early blows in the restart of Event #15 $5K NLHE, and were eliminated soon after.

Braband’s blow was dealt by Danny “dannyills” Illingworth, who got off to a rough start himself. Illingworth double barreled into Isaac “westmenloAA” Baron with just ace high, and Baron called him down with top pair to win a pot worth over 300K.

On this hand, action folded to Danny in the small blind. With the blinds at 6K/12K/1K, he raised to 35K, and Braband called from the big blind. The two saw a flop of T75, and Illingworth led out for 64K. Braband raised to 200K, Danny raised all-in and Tom made the call. The hands looked like this:

Illingworth: T4
Braband: J8

Braband did not make his hand on the turn, but the 6 gave him even more outs. Now, a jack, four, nine or any club would eliminate Illingworth. Tom caught a pair on the river, but the 8 wasn’t sufficient. Danny raked in the pot, and chipped back up to 850K.

Tom was eliminated the next hand when he shoved all in with T8 from the small blind, and was called by Isaac Baron in the big blind. Baron held A3. Isaac flopped the joint, 2-4-5 with two clubs, and the T hit the turn just for good measure. Braband hit the rail in 17th and receives $27,029. Baron is steamrolling now, with over 1.5 million in chips.

Grippo was crippled when he shoved all-in from the small blind over a raise from late position. When the action folded back to David Inselberg, the original raiser, he snap called, flipping over AA. Nick was way behind with A9. The flop brought two outside draws though, when it came Q86, and the J on the turn kept Grippo alive. The K sealed the deal though, and Nick was left with less than 50K in chips.

An orbit later, he pushed his small stack in the middle, and Billy “Patrolman35″ Kopp (pictured right) isolated from late position. All other players folded, and Grippo tabled 96, drawing live against the AJ of Kopp. The AQ8 flop was huge for Billy, and left Grippo with little to no outs. The 3 on the turn ended it, and Grippo busted in 16th Place earning $27,029. Kopp, however, is now over 700K.

Mike “SowersUNCC” Sowers and David “raptor517″ Benefield have been relatively quiet, chipping up without showdowns. Sowers and Benefield are above their starting stacks for the day, sitting with 700K and 400K respectively.

WSOP 2009 Event #19 $2.5K NLHE Six-Max

A ton of online players turned out for the $2.5K 6-Handed NLHE event including Peter “number1pen” Neff, Adam “akat11″ Katz, Mike “Gags30″ Gagliano, and Michael “worldsgrtst” Banducci.

Several players have drawn tables with some of their closest friends, which both makes for good entertainment and keeps play interesting. Several tables are still waiting for late arrivals too, so Hunter “The_Hunt_D” Frey and Jamie “thecronic420″ Rosen comprise half of the players currently seated at their table. Another interesting match up can be found over at table 148, where Jesse “JMaster30″ Cohen is quietly listening to the banter between Dan “Wretchy” Martin, who is pictured left, and Christian “charder30″ Harder. We didn’t stay for too much of the fun, but the word “babe” was bantered about a couple of times as were some light hearted jabs about screennames.

One player who is all out of fun early on is Jeff “jeffboski” Sluzinski. We missed the preflop action, but watched as Jeff got it all-in against another player on aT84 board holding T4 to the other player’s T8. A four failed to fall for Sluzinski and he made an early exit in Level One. We’ve also received worth that Anthony “D1rtyR1v3r” Nardi has hit the rail as well.
