Kyle “kwob20″ Bowker (pictured left) couldn’t have been thrilled when he took his seat this afternoon. Not only did he begin play with just over 10,000 in chips, but also seated at his table were JC Tran, Lee Markholt, and P5ers Andy “BadgerPro” Shultz and Brandy “Parligod” Savage.
Fortunately his mood improved just minutes into the first level. With blinds at 250/500, a player raised to 1.5K and Bowker moved all in for his remaining 9.5K. The player called with A
K
, which was in a race against Bowker’s 8
8
. The 9

5
flop added a straight draw to Bowker’s hand but the Q
turn gave his opponent flush draw. The 9
river sealed the hand for Bowker, who chipped back up to 20K.
TJ Cloutier stopped by shortly after to say hello to Markholt and Tran. Cloutier was shut out of the Main Event on Day 1D as he waited too long to register and said he has nobody but himself to blame. “I had 35 days to do it,” he told Tran. “It’s my own fault, but I didn’t think they’d sell out.”
Day 2B ended early for Jerome “j-weezy” Johnson. We heard the dealer announce an all in and a call at his table and walked over to find Johnson all in on the turn with the board reading J
6
5
A
8
. Johnson, who entered the day with 32K but looked to have less at the time, held Q
J
but he was behind his opponent’s set of fives. The river was the 8
and Johnson hit the rail.
Bryan Micon (pictured right) is also over in the Miranda Room. On one of the first hands of the day he opened to 1,250 with the blinds at 250/500/50. Action folded to a man in the blinds who raised to 5.5K leaving 6.5K behind. Micon knew he only had two options and after mulling it over decided to put the player all in. The player immediately called and tabled K
K
. Bryan was behind with A
Q
. The board ran Q
9
8
5
A
though, and the ace on the river eliminated his opponent.
“Sorry man,” Micon said apologetically. “I made a bad play.”
Bad play or not Bryan has close to 100K after the knockout.
Tyson “POTTER” Marks finished Day 1D with one of the bigger stacks in the field and is currently sitting in the Miranda Room at Table 263. P5ers Chris “brsavage” Savage and Rafael “rcaiaffa” Caiaffa join him there.
Marks doubled a player up in one of the first hands of the day holding A
8
against K
J
. The T
7
3
flop was clean and so too was the 4
on the turn, but the K
on the river saved his opponent. A few hands later we saw some people standing around Table 263 so we rushed over thinking that it could involve a P5er. When we arrived the board was K
J
2
Q
T
and a player on the far end of the table had J
9
sitting in front of him. Tyson had the 4
and another, unknown card. Apparently Marks had tabled his hand, pushed it forward and the dealer mucked it. Tyson re-enacted the scenario and we saw that the other card was the A
to give him broadway. The table, led by Dan Shak agreed that Marks had done nothing wrong and the tournament director ruled that since the hand had been tabled it was live. Tyson was awarded the pot and is now pushing 200K.
Andrew “tufat23″ Teng (pictured left) has dropped below the 30K mark after this hand. Teng checked on a flop of K
6
6
and his opponent bet 2K. Teng made the call and the turn was the 9
. Teng checked again and the other player bet 4.5K. Teng then raised to 11K total and his opponent made the call. The J
was the river card and Teng checked one more time. The other player bet 16K and Teng laid his hand down.
JC “PrtyPSux” Alvarado was the one betting the river at his table. With about 25K in the pot Alvarado and his opponent checked on the turn with the board reading Q
5
5
9
and saw the 2
on the river. Alvarado led out for 24K and after a short time spent thinking his opponent called. Alvarado tabled A
J
for a flush and the other player quickly mucked.
